Mini plant

On October 15, 2010, PSE research group held a soft launch of the Eco mini plant: Green fuel. This mini plant was built with the concept of eco-friendly building because building takes advantage of the arrangement so that air circulation is not needed air conditioning (AC). In addition, for lighting uses solar panels, so this building is really an environmentally friendly building.

In terms of process, this green fuel technology is eco-friendly process. Castor oil, nyamplung, rubber, kapok, etc, which is a non-edible oil, can be used as raw materials. Oil will be processed into biodiesel and it has many advantages, such as its emissions lower than diesel oil. In addition, biodiesel has a higher cetane number than petroleum diesel, and can reach 62 while that of diesel oil is only about 50, resulting in the better combustion in the engine.

The product of this mini plant-green fuel is biodiesel (± 90 %) and glycerol (± 10 %). Glycerol byproduct from this process will be converting into bioaditif that can be used to increase octane number at a premium for increasing the performance of the motor or car engine. Generally speaking, it can be said that the technologies developed have the advantage of the process: a) zero waste, because there is no waste produced, b) zero emission because of biodiesel produced has a low level of emissions, or almost close to zero because the material comes from renewable materials, and c) the eco-efficient, because the overall process developed is very efficient.
